Trainings Offered on Coaching

The assumption that drives our Coaching and Technical Assistance (TA) Specialists training is that each teacher is different and the needs of each classroom vary. While coaching sequences may emanate from a standardized coaching and TA template, it is tailored to the unique needs of your teachers.

Mentor-coaching is a complex undertaking requiring a diverse set of competencies

Coaching and Providing TA is a complex undertaking requiring a diverse set of competencies, including but not limited to:

  • the ability to instruct in specific content areas and to facilitate reflective practice, observation skills, communication and active listening techniques;
  • the ability to instruct in specific content areas and to facilitate reflective practice, observation skills, communication and active listening techniques;
  • skills in conflict resolution, non-evaluative styles of supervision, and problem solving.

    • Covers 8 key topics in coaching and providing TA, scaffolded to be relevant for either novice or experienced providers.
  • How to Use a Coach; A Primer for Teachers
    • 8-hour session
    • Introduces teachers to the Mentor-Coach model and the professional conferencing process.
