Workforce Development

Teachers’ and education leaders’ engagement with effective professional development (PD) is linked to classroom quality and improved child outcomes. The best PD provides practitioners with interrelated and continuous learning opportunities based on the science of child development. It builds leadership capacity to support continuous, collaborative model of learning.

Re-imagining professional learning

The increasingly professionalized field of early education has created new opportunities and new approaches to workforce development for early childhood practitioners – along with the coaches, professional development staff and higher education faculty who provide them with technical assistance.

Leadership Institutes: Leaders in early education and care systems serve as a critical catalyst for change in linking education efforts and creating a continuum of learning across birth through grade three. The goal of ECA’s Leadership Institutes is to support leaders from school districts, community-based organizations, and family child care systems in developing leadership capacity, and building partnerships that will lead to improved school readiness and future school success.

Leveraging Technology: ECA utilizes innovative and engaging facilitation techniques, and state-of-the-art distributed learning systems, from audio and video conferencing to online learning to engage all size groups of professionals. ECA can convert your current courses and PD for inclusion on various Learning Management Systems (LMS). ECA helps you find ways to use classroom video technology such as TALENT™ to your advantage.

Program Focus Coaching: Requires a diverse set of skills to work with individuals and teams including the ability to facilitate work across multiple levels of the program or system. Sound, effective implementation requires changes at the practice, systems, and leadership levels.

Research overwhelmingly shows that a highly skilled and well-qualified workforce is linked to positive outcomes for children.

In all of our professional development, ECA utilizes innovative and engaging facilitation techniques, and state-of-the-art distributed learning systems, from audio and video conferencing to online learning to engage all size groups of professionals.
